Checking your hardware configuration
Presentation Manager uses a dual screen
configuration for
displaying worship songs. Simply
put, there is one
screen for the operator and a separate screen for the projector. This
way the congregation never sees what the operator is doing,
while allowing the operator to make changes to a program in the middle
of service. In order to take advantage of Presentation Manager's
dual screen functionality you will need to be sure to have the proper
computer hardware.

In order to achieve the dual screen output
you need on your desktop you will need a dual display video card.
A dual display video card will either have two standard CRT (also
called RGB) outputs, or a CRT and a DVI output. If you have a
card with 2 CRT outputs you can directly connect your monitor to one
and your projector to another. If you have a CRT/DVI card you can
connect a LCD monitor to the DVI output (or use a DVI to CRT convertor
to connect a standard monitor) and connect the projector to the
CRT. You can connect
your projector to the S-Video out on a video card, but this is not
recommended because it will severely reduce projection quality.
If you do not have a dual display card installed already you can
purchase one from most computer retailers or go to our web site www.presentationmanager.info.
If you
need to purchase a dual display card it is recommended that you do not
get a standard PCI card because they are not powerful enough to run
live video through our software. It is recommended that you
either purchase an AGP or PCI Express card, depending on whether your
motherboard supports AGP or PCI Express.
Laptop
Hardware Setup
Laptops
typically come with a place in the back to connect an external
monitor. Connect your projector to this port you can enable your
laptop's dual display.

The easiest
way to tell if your laptop supports dual display is if it has a 3rd
party video card integrated into the system. That is, if your
laptop's
video card was supplied by ATI or NVidia then chances are you laptop
supports dual display. If the graphics card is not supplied by a
3rd party like ATI or NVidia chances are it will not support dual
display. Check your user manual or contact the manufacturer to be
sure.
